The Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV , is an organ piece by Johann Sebastian Bach. Like the better-known BWV , BWV also bears the title Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, although it is often referred to by the nickname Dorian – a reference to the fact that the piece is written without a key signature – a notation that leads one to assume the Dorian mode.

I have been using a transcript of L. O. Anzaghi for years and on page 10 where the full record is placed for the right hand it appears duplicated a B flat where it should be a note A.

It may be that the Toccata and Fugue is based on an improvisation by Bach and noted down by one of his students. On the other hand, Grove Music does not consider this to be doubtful, although it has quite an extensive list of doubtful and spurious organ and keyboard works.
